PARADOX  : ESCAPE

This series came out of my personal struggles with life and the reactions to such times.  It started when my father was admitted in a government hospital. Running around trying to manage it all  became a big ask And hence creative life became tough. To give myself an outlet, in my free time I began photographing life and architecture in such places.  Luckily in Chandigarh, my hometown, the places where a lot of monotonous tasks happen like hospitals, courts, notaries etc have good designs by brilliant architects like Le Corbusier, Perrie Jeanneret, Jane Drew etc.  My intention with the series was to take these places filled with uninteresting tasks and bend them to make expressive art and tell some stories.  I wanted to show various emotions like; how being in a government hospital feels like being stuck in a maze ; how tedious legal paperwork is ;  how monotonous the lives of people involved in running such places feel.  I wanted to create an escape from all these places and emotions and hence I made digital interpretations for these.
